Dan is a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience performing engineering services for industrial facilities including power stations, solid waste facilities, and dams. He has extensive experience in Virginia with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR), solid waste design and permitting, local site planning, and stormwater management. He is also experienced in hydraulic modeling, geosynthetics, and management and certification of construction quality assurance (CQA) projects for solid waste facilities.
Dan enjoys the challenge of developing a unique solution to solve a problem that has not been tackled before. He strives to work as a trusted member of his client’s team, rather than “just a consultant” – it gives him a great sense of accomplishment and motivates him to go above and beyond to tackle his client’s toughest challenges.
“When I was in college, I saw a quote that said, ‘Scientists study the world as it exists, engineers create the world that does not exist.’ Ever since then, I wanted to be the guy that creates stuff. That’s why I became a civil engineer. I can go to a former project or zoom in on Google Earth and say, ‘I made that.”
