Dave is a personable geotechnical engineer with more than 40 years of comprehensive experience. At Haley & Aldrich, he has been an officer-in-charge and project manager for geotechnical engineering and environmental evaluations for a broad range of projects in both New England and the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Dave has worked on projects during all phases of construction, ranging from preliminary feasibility studies, environmental site assessments, and master plan site development studies, to complete design investigations for major projects.
Dave’s main goal is to make his client look good to the project stakeholders, and his exemplary client service has resulted in many enduring consulting relationships. Clients appreciate not only his superior knowledge of local subsurface conditions and the many factors that need to be considered when building a new project, but also his down-to-earth demeanor and collaborative working style. He tries to understand the “big” picture of the project and creates solutions that address the technical and non-technical challenges.
“I am a problem solver, not a problem studier. I enjoy getting to the solution and finding creative ways to solve our clients most challenging problems with solutions that are technically sound, economically viable, and help make the project successful.”
