Eric is known by his clients and other leaders in the mining industry as an innovative problem solver and a consensus builder. On behalf of his clients he works closely with local leaders, regulators, and communities, educating them on the intrinsic value of mining and teaching them how to recognize and leverage the benefits of local mining operations.
Over the past 30 years Eric has been a passionate and vocal advocate for the mining industry – actively promoting the industry and mentoring Haley & Aldrich’s mining staff to do the same. He also continually seeks new ways to advocate for the mining industry, serving various mining industry associations and organizations, including as a current board member for the Arizona Mining Association and Arizona Rock Products Association, as well as a chair for the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. In the past Eric also served as a board member for the American Exploration and Mining Association, and as a long-term member on the Arizona Geological Survey’s Geologic Mapping Advisory Committee and the Arizona Mining Advisory Council.
Eric frequently participates in state and federal rulemaking on matters affecting the industry, including mining and reclamation practices, land use issues, aggregate protection efforts, strategic minerals, social license, and sustainable development.
“I love to be challenged, to build something from nothing, and to discover new ways to solve problems – that’s why this industry is the perfect fit for me. Working with my mining clients to find solutions for their difficult challenges and advocating for this industry give me the opportunity to do the things I love.”
