Madan has worked in the U.S., Japan, Canada, and Nepal in various capacities and focuses on geotechnical engineering and seismic design, research, and instruction. He specializes in earthquake engineering, soil dynamics (including soil structure interaction), and deep foundations.
Madan’s ability to listen and understand his clients’ challenges and desired outcomes makes him a trusted and reliable consultant and project manager. His project management experience includes planning, budgeting, and overseeing multidisciplinary geotechnical design and construction including design-build projects, developing ground improvement and piling methods, managing post-earthquake field investigations, developing project proposals, and fostering teamwork.
With his substantial experience in teaching and research, including a past role as a professor at Akita Prefectural University in Japan, Madan finds a natural role mentoring staff geotechnical engineers and discussing technical disciplines with clients and colleagues.
