Burlington, Mass., Nov. 24, 2021 – Haley & Aldrich announced today that Environmental Engineer Sarah Mass will be authoring a regular column for the journal Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation®. The column, SERDP & ESTCP Corner, will focus on the latest groundwater research news from the federally funded environmental research programs SERDP & ESTCP.
Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation will include Mass’ column in each quarterly issue of the journal, starting with the fall 2021 issue. SERDP (Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program), funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy, and Environmental Protection Agency; and ESTCP (Environmental Security Technology Certification Program), funded by the DoD; distribute much of the U.S. government’s substantial funding for applied groundwater research. This new column aims to keep readers of the journal informed with the latest news from SERDP- and ESTCP-funded research projects, research findings, upcoming webinars, and in-person events.

She brings a wealth of knowledge about the most important groundwater issues today, from emerging contaminants like PFAS to high-resolution site characterization. She also has the ability to clearly communicate complex topics that readers will find immensely valuable.”
Since its inception in 1981, Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation has been a key resource for groundwater professionals involved in contaminated site assessment and remediation. It is a quarterly journal that offers the best in peer-reviewed, application-oriented papers together with insightful articles from a practitioner’s perspective. Each issue features cutting-edge information on treatment technology, columns by industry experts, news briefs, and equipment news.
SERDP and ESTCP are the U.S. government’s environmental research programs, harnessing the latest science and technology to improve DoD’s environmental performance, reduce costs, and enhance and sustain mission capabilities. The programs respond to environmental technology requirements that are common to all the military Services, complementing their research programs. SERDP and ESTCP promote partnerships and collaboration among academia, industry, the military Services, and other federal agencies. They are independent programs managed from a joint office to coordinate the full spectrum of efforts, from basic and applied research to field demonstration and validation.
