Burlington, Mass., Aug. 31, 2023 — Haley & Aldrich announced today that environmental scientist Dr. Randy Jordan has joined the firm as a senior technical expert. With a wealth of experience in environmental forensics, contaminated sediment studies, and other environmental investigations, Randy will grow Haley & Aldrich’s ability to tackle difficult environmental challenges, including PFAS and other emerging contaminants in various environmental media, for clients in the Pacific Northwest.
Randy, who is based in Oregon, joins Haley & Aldrich with decades of progressive experience as an environmental scientist with project and technical program management roles, and working with environmental consulting firms, companies, and attorneys as an independent consultant. His previous work spans the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 environmental investigations and remediation, Natural Resource Damage Assessments, environmental research, field investigations for oil spill responses and damage assessment, and marine baseline monitoring programs. His projects have included Department of Defense and commercial sites in the Pacific Northwest, as well as in California, Hawaii, Texas, and Alaska.
“Randy’s deep experience with contaminant forensics — particularly his focus on sediments — will be a great resource to our clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” said Dr. Tiffany Thomas, a leader of Haley & Aldrich’s emerging contaminants practice. “He will also expand our litigation support practice through his experience consulting on complex litigation related to contaminants.”
Randy has conducted forensic evaluations and chemical fate and transport analyses related to oil spills, pipeline releases, and other oil and gas sector operations; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) source evaluations related to former manufactured gas plant facility operations; and investigations of chlorinated hydrocarbon and dissolved gas hydrocarbon releases. He has also investigated PAHs and metals in various aquatic systems.
“I am honored to be part of Haley & Aldrich and will apply my experience and skills to tackle the novel problems our clients may encounter and contribute to the growth of our practice areas dealing with emerging contaminants, contaminated sediments, brownfields, and other areas of concern to clients,” said. “I look forward to forging strong relationships with Haley & Aldrich’s clients and drawing on my professional experience to support their goals.”
Randy earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and San Diego State University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and is active in professional circles in the Pacific Northwest.
