Active shooter scenarios have risen sharply in recent years to an all-time high of 30 incidents and 729 fatalities in 2017. To help organizations mitigate the risks of such tragedies and create safer workplace environments, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has published a technical report, “How to Develop and Implement an Active Shooter/Armed Assailant Plan.”
More than 30 safety professionals, including Haley & Aldrich’s Corporate Health & Safety Manager Danyle Hepler and Technical Expert Michael Pardus, collaborated to produce the report. It covers topics including risk assessment, the development of a comprehensive prevention plan, and employee training. The report costs $95 for ASSP members or $110 for non-members to download.
